Razor of the Week

M Dailey

Razor of the Week - Mayken Dailey (9th Grade)

Congratulations to Mayken Dailey for being selected as this week's Razor of the Week. Mayken was nominated by his English 1 teacher, Mrs. Mary Sprouse. Mrs Sprouse highlighted his kindness to others, his helpfulness and respect to teachers, his eagerness to learn, and his desire to do well. She said she loves having Mayken in class.

Congratulations, Mayken! Be sure to see Mrs. Crawford sometime this week for a small token of celebration!

Congratulations to State Champion, Brady Callahan!

We were excited to honor senior Razorback and 3A state champion in the 800m event, Brady Callahan at halftime of Friday night's football game. Brady won the 800 this past spring at the South Carolina State Track and Field Championship with an official time of 1 min, 55.69 seconds.
Over his career at WHS, Brady has earned All-Region honors three times in cross country and three times in track, along with All-State honors three times in cross country and one in track.
In cross country, Brady has helped lead our teams to top-five finishes at the state level in each of the past three seasons. This year, the team is currently ranked number one in the state in 3A.
On the track, his versatility is equally impressive. Brady has qualified for the state meet in the 800-meter run, the 4x400-meter relay, the 4x800-meter relay, and the 400-meter hurdles.
Brady’s coaches consistently point to his leadership, work ethic, and positive example as important reasons for the continued success of both our cross country and track programs.
Congratulations, Brady! We are so proud of you and look forward to seeing what you accomplish next.

Spotlight Teacher - Coach Shane Sutherland

At Friday's game, we were excited to recognize Coach Shane Sutherland as this week's WHS Spotlight Teacher. Coach Sutherland teaches Frontier History, Economics, and AP Microeconomics. He is also the head coach of the Walhalla High School girls and boys cross country and track teams. Under his leadership, both the girls cross country and track teams have earned back to back region championships and Coach Sutherland has led our boys cross country team to an astounding 5 region championships in a row, and is looking toward a 6th - as they are currently ranked 1st in the state in 3A. Whether in the classroom, in the weight room, on the course, or on the track, Coach Sutherland is devoted and extremely dedicated to helping his students and student-athletes be successful and guiding them to excellence.

Need a Permanent Library Pass?

Submit this application to receive a reusable library pass for admittance to the library in the mornings (8:00-8:35 am) and/or during your lunch. The teacher on duty should not allow you to pass through the doors from the cafeteria/commons area during these times without a pass. Use only the upstairs hallway and stairs from the cafeteria/commons.

You can always get a Securly hall pass from a teacher if you just need to go to the library occasionally during these times. This pass is for the students who plan to go to the library most/all mornings and/or most/all lunches.

Please note: This pass can be rescinded if you are found wandering through the hallways instead of going straight to the library and/or using the commons stairwell and upstairs hall.

Car Rider Reminders

PLEASE DO NOT drop students off or pick them up in the main parking lot or in the student parking lot. Remember to pull ALL THE WAY up to the purple line or the car in front of you. Do your part to help our dismissal run efficiently.
