Razors of the Week

Razors of the Week - Bentley Holcombe & Jakob Sweat

Congratulations to Bentley Holcombe and Jakob Sweat for being selected as this week's Razors of the Week. These students were nominated by both Dr. Rogers and Mrs. Crawford. Bentley and Jakob were working together to propose a service project idea to Mrs. Crawford, when our District Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent of Instruction came in for a meeting and asked if they could stay for their presentation. Jakob and Bentley stayed cool as cucumbers and shared their ideas professionally and confidently. They were extremely impressive and did a great job representing Walhalla High School to our district leadership.

Congratulations, Bentley and Jakob! See Mrs. Crawford sometime this week for a small token of celebration!

Daily Journal Person of the Week - Mrs. Suzanne Rogers

Congratulations to English teacher, Mrs. Suzanne Rogers, for being selected as the Daily Journal's Person of the Week. We are so proud of Mrs. Rogers and so very lucky to have her work with our students!

JROTC Highway Cleanup

WHS JROTC cadets cleaned up the highways last week. JROTC cadets said, "We do this at least once a semester and we always enjoy doing so. It is not only an act of good service but we get to do it together and have fun while cleaning."

Ag Days at the Fair

WHS agriculture students led teaching stations about agriculture, life sciences, and environmental science for the next generation at the Heritage Fair last week. They taught nearly 300 4-to-6-year-olds on the first day and almost 900 elementary students on day 2!

Weapons Detection

Weapons Detectors will be used at WHS every week. We will not announce the days ahead of time and may choose to use them at all entrances or run them at only driver or rider entrances. Please clean out your bookbags and see the flyer for things you can do to ensure we are moving students through as quickly as possible.

Need a Permanent Library Pass?

Submit this application to receive a reusable library pass for admittance to the library in the mornings (8:00-8:35 am) and/or during your lunch. The teacher on duty should not allow you to pass through the doors from the cafeteria/commons area during these times without a pass. Use only the upstairs hallway and stairs from the cafeteria/commons.

You can always get a Securly hall pass from a teacher if you just need to go to the library occasionally during these times. This pass is for the students who plan to go to the library most/all mornings and/or most/all lunches.

Please note: This pass can be rescinded if you are found wandering through the hallways instead of going straight to the library and/or using the commons stairwell and upstairs hall.

Car Rider Reminders

PLEASE DO NOT drop students off or pick them up in the main parking lot or in the student parking lot. Remember to pull ALL THE WAY up to the purple line or the car in front of you. Do your part to help our dismissal run efficiently.
