Razor of the Week

Razor of the Week - Sophie Smith (11th Grade)

Congratulations to junior, Sophie Smith, for being selected as this week's Razor of the Week. Sophie was nominated by her math teacher, Ms. Rebekah Fogle. Ms. Fogle said, "She is a true joy to have in class. She goes above and beyond when it comes to completing her work, and her personality and participation add so much to Algebra 2. I am proud of her!"

Congratulations, Sophie! See Mrs. Crawford sometime this week for a small token of celebration!

Spotlight Teacher of the Week - Mrs. Tammy Fodor

At each home football game, WHS takes time to recognize a special spotlight teacher. This past Friday night, we were excited to spotlight Mrs. Tammy Fodor!
Mrs. Fodor is in her 31st year of teaching and has spent the last 18 of those in the math department at Walhalla High School. This year, she is teaching Algebra 2 Honors, Precal Honors, and AP Statistics. Mrs. Fodor is always one of our students’ favorite teachers and has been recognized as the Walhalla High School Most Influential Teacher 6 times by the senior class. Mrs. Fodor is so thoughtful and always goes out of her way to celebrate and show appreciation to the students and adults in our school. We thank Mrs. Fodor for all of her hard work and everything she does for WHS and our students!

Attendance Matters!

Attendance laws and seat time requirements are set by the state South Carolina and the School District of Oconee County.

Only 5 absences OF ANY KIND are allowed in a semester course. Even excused absences are considered time out of class and that time must be made up accordingly. At WHS, we offer morning make-up and afternoon sessions, not as a punishment, but as an OPPORTUNITY to earn back the seat time missed and to ensure you will be awarded credit for your classes.

DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS OPPORTUNITY!!!

Start dates will begin in September and will be announced in the weekly and monthly newsletters.

Optional Testing Sign-ups

This form is for all the optional testing open to WHS students for the 2025-2026 school year.
YOU MUST FILL OUT THIS FORM FOR ALL TESTS YOU POTENTIALLY WANT TO TAKE BEFORE THE FORM CLOSES, OR YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO TEST.
NO LATE SIGN-UPS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

It is important that you sign up for the test that you want to take or may even THINK you want to take. These tests are free to you, and if you choose to take them outside of the testing date at school, it may end up costing you $$$. Any test you sign up for on a school day is an excused absence from classes here at WHS, HCTC, OR TCTC.

Only certain tests are open to certain grades. So please select the CORRECT grade you are in to see the test available to you. Mrs. McAnally discussed these test options with you during the class meetings during FLEX at the beginning of the year.
Please reach out to Mrs. McAnally or Mrs. Ward with questions.

The Google form must be filled out by a student with their SDOC email.

Need a Permanent Library Pass?

Submit this application to receive a reusable library pass for admittance to the library in the mornings (8:00-8:35 am) and/or during your lunch. The teacher on duty should not allow you to pass through the doors from the cafeteria/commons area during these times without a pass. Use only the upstairs hallway and stairs from the cafeteria/commons.

You can always get a Securly hall pass from a teacher if you just need to go to the library occasionally during these times. This pass is for the students who plan to go to the library most/all mornings and/or most/all lunches.

Please note: This pass can be rescinded if you are found wandering through the hallways instead of going straight to the library and/or using the commons stairwell and upstairs hall.

Car Rider Reminders

PLEASE DO NOT drop students off or pick them up in the main parking lot or in the student parking lot. Remember to pull ALL THE WAY up to the purple line or the car in front of you. Do your part to help our dismissal run efficiently.
Thank you for helping to keep our students safe!
