Teacher Appreciation Week

Teacher Appreciation Positive Referrals

Every week, teachers send home Positive Referrals to tell parents and guardians how awesome our students at WHS are. Now, it’s your turn to return the favor!
This week is Teacher Appreciation Week, and we want to flood our teachers and staff with the same kind of love they show us. Think about that one person who always listens, the teacher who stays late to help you understand a concept, or the staff member who makes you feel seen every single day.
Your words will be published on a special Teacher Appreciation Google Site for the whole community—students, parents, and the teachers/staff themselves—to see. Let’s make sure everyone knows just how much our teachers and staff matter to us!

The range will take place from approximately 9am-11am. Please be aware that during this time, gunfire may be heard coming from the back area of our campus. The range will be supervised by Law Enforcement Officers from the SCDNR and the Oconee County Sheriff's Office.

Attendance Matters

Are You Talking to Me???

YES!!!!! You! I'm talking to you!

Attendance laws and seat time requirements are set by the state South Carolina and the School District of Oconee County. At WHS, we offer morning make-up sessions, not as a punishment, but as an OPPORTUNITY to earn back the seat time missed and be awarded credit for your classes.

DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS OPPORTUNITY!!!

Sessions are held Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8-8:45 in the upstairs computer lab (Coach Wimphrie's classroom).

Students missing more than the allowed days and not attending morning make-up sessions may not receive credit for their class.
Don't be late be on time for class

Be On Time!!!

Students getting 5 or more tardies in a class will be assigned LUNCH DETENTION instead of detention during FLEX.
  • Students and parents will get an email notification if/when a student is assigned. It is YOUR JOB to check your email regularly.
  • Students will get their lunch and then report immediately to lunch detention. Students must be present by the following times in order to be counted present.
Lunch A: 12:25
Lunch B: 1:10
Lunch C: 1:55

Let’s get to school and class ON TIME!!!!

No ID = Lunch Detention

Students are expected to wear their ID everyday. Students going over the allowed number of temporary IDs (5 each nine weeks) will be assigned lunch detention. After a student receives 2 detentions, they will be assigned ISS, multiple days of ISS, and eventually OSS. Please help us by reinforcing the importance of keeping up with and wearing IDs
***ID violations restart each nine weeks***
***IDs should be visible and worn around the neck or on a belt ID

Good luck
