  • Students should wear caps and gowns (which will be delivered to WHS this Wednesday, 4/22).
  • You do not have to wear graduation attire underneath, but be sure gowns are zipped and caps are worn.
  • We do not provide transportation. If you need a ride and cannot find a ride with a friend, reach out to Mrs. Harvey or Mr. Resendiz by this Friday, 4/24
  • Unfortunately, parents are not invited to attend the senior walks. Please respect that the elementary and middle schools are still conducting a normal school day.

If you are planning to attend, complete this form by this Friday, 4/24. Students attending the senior walks will be marked Principal Approved for 1st block, 2nd block, and FLEX.

Coby Wood

Congratulations!

Congratulations to Coby Wood for finishing in 1st place for the entire state of SC in the Investwrite Essay Contest. Additionally, Coby finished 6th in the entire nation. Coby will be recognized at the 2026 South Carolina Economics Awards in Columbia on May 1st.

Mrs. Welch said, "I am incredibly proud of Coby and his ability to thoughtfully analyze stock market data, use strategic investing principles, and make long-term investment decisions rather than simply reacting to the market’s ups and downs that we saw last fall. If you have had Coby in class, you already know what an exceptional student he is, and I am so excited to share this wonderful news with you all."

Congratulations, Coby!

Attendance Matters

Are You Talking to Me???

YES!!!!! You! I'm talking to you!

Attendance laws and seat time requirements are set by the state South Carolina and the School District of Oconee County. At WHS, we offer morning make-up sessions, not as a punishment, but as an OPPORTUNITY to earn back the seat time missed and be awarded credit for your classes.

DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS OPPORTUNITY!!!

Sessions are held Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8-8:45 in the upstairs computer lab (Coach Wimphrie's classroom).

Students missing more than the allowed days and not attending morning make-up sessions may not receive credit for their class.
Don't be late be on time for class

Be On Time!!!

Students getting 5 or more tardies in a class will be assigned LUNCH DETENTION instead of detention during FLEX.
  • Students and parents will get an email notification if/when a student is assigned. It is YOUR JOB to check your email regularly.
  • Students will get their lunch and then report immediately to lunch detention. Students must be present by the following times in order to be counted present.
Lunch A: 12:25
Lunch B: 1:10
Lunch C: 1:55

Let’s get to school and class ON TIME!!!!

No ID = Detention

Students are expected to wear their ID everyday. Students going over the allowed number of temporary IDs (5 each nine weeks) will be assigned detention. After a student receives 2 detentions, they will be assigned ISS, multiple days of ISS, and eventually OSS. Please help us by reinforcing the importance of keeping up with and wearing IDs
***ID violations restart each nine weeks***
***IDs should be visible and worn around the neck or on a belt ID

What to Wear:
  • River booties can be rented at Wildwater for $5 per pair.
  • Tennis shoes, crocs or sandals with heel straps. (NO flip-flops).

Can I be in a raft with my friends:
  • We will do our best! Each raft can hold 6 students.
What to Bring:
  • Towel and a full change of dry clothes (including dry shoes).
  • Plastic bag or dry bag to carry wet stuff home.
  • Optional: Money; snacks and drinks are sold inside Wildwater
What time should I pick up my child:
  • Bus will return around 4:00-4:30pm on Friday (it is difficult to know the exact time we will return as some river trips take longer than others)
